After thoroughly reviewing various sources, I noticed that Bluehost may not be the most suitable option. I have encountered challenges related to usability and learning, particularly as a novice seeking to acquire knowledge gradually. I have a few inquiries for which I have not yet found satisfactory answers:

Initially, I established my Bluehost account using a domain that is no longer used. The associated website did not gain traction, and I did not pursue it further. Consequently, my cPanel account name reflects a domain I do not utilize. Bluehost has informed me that I am unable to change this. Am I overly particular about having a domain or user name accurately representing my website and endeavors? What would be the appropriate method to effect such a change? Please consider that I prefer it to align more closely with my brand and identity as the primary user.

Furthermore, I am starting a Substack account and would like to direct a domain I currently possess towards it. Until there is a genuine need for additional hosting services, I am considering acquiring hosting from an alternative provider. My contract with Bluehost is set to renew in 2027. What is the likelihood of receiving a refund if I request one and cancel my service before the renewal date? Has anyone successfully navigated this process?

Thank you all for your insights; I genuinely appreciate your assistance.

The cPanel username can be conveniently modified through the Web Host Manager (WHM). However, since you are utilizing a shared hosting account, you will not have access to WHM. Therefore, you may wish to contact their support team for assistance.

Refunds depend on your current hosting provider. Nevertheless, most hosting providers offer refund options. I recommend inquiring about a one-year refund. If you could provide the details regarding your current plan and pricing, I would suggest a more advantageous plan that could offset any losses incurred with your existing hosting service.

I consulted two different support technicians, but my request was denied.
